Accountability

Corrections Policy

When we get something wrong, we fix it — clearly, quickly, and without qualification. Transparency about errors is a core part of our commitment to readers.

Our Commitment

Spain in English takes accuracy seriously. When factual errors are identified — whether by our own team or brought to our attention by readers — we correct them promptly, transparently, and without obfuscation.

We do not silently delete or alter published content. All significant corrections are noted directly on the article.

How Corrections Are Made

  • Factual errors are corrected within the article, with a correction notice appended
  • The correction note states what was wrong and what the correct information is
  • The date of the correction is recorded
  • For serious errors, a prominent correction may be published separately
  • We do not alter article headlines or text without a corresponding correction notice

Reporting an Error

If you believe we have published inaccurate or misleading information, please contact our corrections desk. Provide as much detail as possible, including the article in question, the specific error, and any supporting evidence.

We review every correction request and respond within two working days.

Clarifications and Updates

Where a story develops after initial publication, we update articles to reflect new information. Updates are clearly marked with the date of revision. This is distinct from corrections to errors.
